Albert H. Krueger

Albert (Al) H. Krueger Jr, age 84 of North Tonawanda, NY died March 1, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Al was born November 23, 1924 in North Tonawanda, NY. He was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School. Beloved husband of the late Jeanette Krueger (Lindhurst), who recently passed away. Father of the late Kathy Ann Krueger, loving dad of Sandra (Joseph) Wawrzynek of Raleigh, NC, Debra Krueger of Lima, NY and Albert (Monica) Krueger of West Seneca, NY. Loving grandfather of 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and sister Bonnie Hutchinson.

Al joined the United States Navy in 1942, serving in both WWII and Korean War. Al became a North Tonawanda Firefighter in 1949. He retired as Captain and Training Officer after 27 years of service. Served on the North Tonawanda Youth Board for 12 years. In 1979 he became the North Tonawanda Civil Defense Director. In 1980 he served as Resident Manager of the Bishop Gibbons apartments retiring in 1986.

Al was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed sports and loved auto racing, was a mechanic for 12 years working with various pit crews at the Indy 500. Member of the Volunteer Fireman’s Benevolent Association. Lifelong member of the Live Hose Company, and member of Stephen Sikora Post.

Memorial Service officiated by Rev. Dr. AW Moldenhauer, will be held at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841) 156 Robinson Street NT, Saturday, March 7, at 1:00 PM. Flowers gratefully declined.
