Boyd Ginter

Boyd Ginter, “Slim”, age 88, of the Tonawandas after a brief illness at Kenmore Mercy Hospital on Wednesday (April 27, 2011). Boyd was born in Coalport, PA and was a resident of Buffalo and the Tonawandas for over 60 years. He worked at Lampe Motors and Colonial Ford and then was a MAC Tool Distributor.

Boyd was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran and served in Germany and France. He was also an avid hunter and sportsman. Husband of the late Helen (nee Swauger) Ginter.

Beloved father of Joan (Michael) Shamrock and Janet (Jack) Jenkins, both of North Tonawanda. Proud grandfather of Michael G. (Amanda) Shamrock, Jay Jenkins (Jessica Stolz). Brother of Melvin (Joan) Ginter. Uncle of Marsha (Paul) Dombrowski and several other nieces and nephews. Dearest friend of Gloria Stafford.

Friends received by the family on Thursday 6-9 PM and Friday morning 10:30-11:30 AM at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841) 156 Robinson St. North Tonawanda. Funeral services will follow at the First Baptist Church of North Tonawanda, 530 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda at 12:00 PM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Elmlawn Cemetery.
