Clara C. Demart

Clara C. "Nellie" DeMart, (nee Barber) age 89 of North Tonawanda on Friday (February 4, 2011) at Northgate Manor. Born in Eriton, PA to the late Samuel and Artha (Gaylard) Barber, she has been a resident of North Tonawanda for greater part of her life. Nelllie worked for the North Tonawanda School System as a cook, working at Drake Elementary and Payne Jr. High Schools. She then went to Niagara County Community College, from where she retired. She was a member of Ascension R.C. Church where she volunteered at all functions. She was instrumental in the development of the Bereavement Program and acted as a Team Leader. Clara gave her time to Niagara Hospice, Inc. and the Live Hose Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer, bowler and euchre player. Clara was predeceased by two brother and two sisters.

Loving wife of 66 years to Dominic DeMart of North Tonawanda. Dear mother of Joseph (Linda) DeMart of Cranberry Lake, NY and Mary Ann (Jack) Cohen of Henderson, NV. Proud Grandmother of Christine (Andy) Woodring, Joseph (Meredith) DeMart, David Joseph Cohen and John D. (Tracey) Cohen.

Friends received by the family on Monday 4-8 PM at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841) 156 Robinson St. North Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:00 A.M. at St. Jude R.C. Parish, 800 Niagara Falls Blvd., Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 315 Alberta Dr, Ste 102, Buffalo, NY 14226
