Evelyn W. Knapp

Evelyn W. Knapp “Evie” (nee Wismer), age 89, of Grand Island passed away at home on March 1, 2013 with her family surrounding her. Evelyn was a retired Letter Carrier for the Grand Island Post Office for 25 years. She was awarded the Postman Of the Year. An avid outdoorsperson, she white water rafted, camped and jumped out of an airplane when she was in her seventies. Evelyn was a big community supporter. She would always be found in the stands of Grand Island High School, watching and supporting the team throughout the years.
Wife of the late Sylvan O. Knapp and sister of the late Clare Wismer and Elizabeth Wismer.
Loving mother of Connie (Richard) Shaw of Florida and Patricia Meredith of Grand Island. Sister of Ernie Wismer of Michigan. Proud grandmother of Deborah (Thomas) Maufer, Richard (Lisa) Shaw, Crystal (Tod) Jackson, Timothy (Sabrina) Shaw, Jodi Watters, Jesse D. Watters, III. Great grandmother of 7 great-grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Also surving are several nieces and nephews.
No Prior visitation. Evelyn will be interred at Northridge Cemetery.
