Helen Jean Colkitt

H. Jean Colkitt, (nee Kerr), age 84, of North Tonawanda died on Sunday (March 28, 2010) after a brief illness. Born at the family home near Punxsutawney she was the third of seven siblings. Jean was a member of the First United Methodist Church of North Tonawanda. She previously worked at Twin Fair Department Store in Amherst. Wife of the late Ray S. Colkitt and grandmother of the late Brandi Colkitt. Sister of the late Harry and Charles “Dick” Kerr. Beloved mother of David (Linda) Colkitt of Tonawanda, Paul (Karen) Colkitt of Reno, NV, Keith (Kathy) Colkitt of Greenacres, WA, and Amy Colkitt of North Tonawanda. Beloved sister of Robert (Joan) Kerr, Mary Wachob, Lois Hudak and Nancy Hogan. Proud grandmother of Caitlin, Colleen and Jordan Colkitt. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends received by the family on Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841) where services will be held on Wednesday evening at 8:00. Interment will be at Morningside Cemetery in Dubois, PA. The family requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of North Tonawanda, 65 Main Street, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.
