John A. Chimino

John A. Chimino, Sr. age 87 suddenly at DeGraff Memorial Hospital entered into eternal rest on Friday June 28, 2013. Born in Batavia, he is the last of seven children. John was an active member of Ascension R.C. Church, Live Hose #4 and the North Tonawanda Fireman’s Benevolent Association. He was a World War II Army Veteran who served in the 28th Infantry Division. He settled in North Tonawanda in 1946 and worked at Buffalo Bolt, Roblin Steel and retired from Buffalo Pumps at the age of 79. Husband of the late Antoinette (nee Rotolo). Son of the late Michael and Santa (nee Scaraleta) Chimino.
Beloved father of John (Diane) Chimino Jr., Ann Marie (Richard) Goodman, Katherine (Michael) Eagen, Sandra (Robert) Proulx. Proud grandfather of Jeanette Chimino, Julie (Edward) Stefik, Nicholas Chimino, Richard J. (Kelly) Goodman, Katherine A. (Robert) Murtha, Michelle (Ronald) Zawistowski, Sonya Deyo and Anthony Lamarand. Loving great-grandfather of Evan, Brianna, Emily, Kaitlyn, Kirsten, Alex, Kylie, Gabriella and Olivia. Brother-in-law of Anthony (Deborah) Rotolo. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends received by the family on Monday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841) 156 Robinson St., North Tonawanda where services will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:00 A.M. Entombment will follow at Epiphany Chapel Mausoleum at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to the North Tonawanda Food Pantry and the Salvation Army.
