John S. Hale, 72, of North Tonawanda, after a brief illness on Sunday, April 1, 2012. John retired from the Chevrolet Foundry and in his retirement worked for Greyline as a Tour Guide in Niagara Falls. John was a U.S. Navy veteran. He loved steam engines and all things railroad, and was a member of Niagara Frontier Chapter NRHS, Inc. and the Pennsylvania RR Technical and Historical Society. He was an avid reader and was an authority on WWII and the Civil War. Son of the late John S. Hale and Nelle (nee Hall) Hale.
Beloved husband of Donna M. (nee Kreger) Hale. Brother-in-law of Donald M. (Ron Ehmke) Kreger, Diane M. (Kevin) Kassay and David M. Kreger. Uncle of Kyle C. Kassay, Kelly M. (Scott) Jordan and Ashley E. Kassay. Great-uncle of Benjamin K. Jordan.
Friends received by the family on Wednesday 2-5 and 7-9 PM at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841), 156 Robinson St., North Tonawanda, where services will be held on Thursday morning at 10:30 AM.
