Joseph Calabrese

Joseph J. “Kelly” Calabrese, Sr., age 95, of North Tonawanda died on Monday April 27, 2009 at Crestwood Health Care Facility. Known as Kelly to his friends, he was an avid bowler and golfer and could always be found at Deerwood Golf Course. He retired from Dunlop Tire Company after thirty years of service to the company. He was a member of the Renaissance Club and the Dunlop Retirees Club. Husband of the late Mary (nee Mendola) Calabrese and father of the late Patrick “Paddy” Calabrese. Brother of the late Pasquale, James, Angelo, Charles Calabrese and Mamie Antinore and Conchetta Calabrese. Loving father of Joseph Calabrese, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Barbara (James) Jakubowski of North Tonawanda and Julie (Jerry) Kraschinsky of California. Proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and ___ great grandchildren. Brother of Mary Mecca, Anna Wojcik and Ignatius Calabrese. Friends received by the family on Friday 4-8 p.m. at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841) 156 Robinson Street, North Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. (please assemble at the church) at St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 800 Niagara Falls Blvd. North Tonawanda. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemtery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart or Diabetes Association.
