Josephine V. Candlena

Josephine V. Candlena, “JC” (nee Cardinale) age 81 of North Tonawanda on Friday (January 7, 2011) after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Josephine retired from Kenmore Mercy Hospital in 1993, where she was a Registered Nurse in the operating room. She was an avid Bridge Player, a great cook and loved to travel. She will be remembered for her compassion and caring for others. Wife of the late Matthew D. Candlena who predeceased her in 2005. Sister of the late Grace (Joseph) Quisimberto, Sara (Frank) Vassallo, Louis (Connie) Cardinale.

Loving mother of Phillip (Kathy Henwood) Candlena, Mary Jo (Paul) Murphy, Donald (Amy Yaple) Candlena, David (Christina) Candlena all of North Tonawanda and Michelle (Tim Eiswerth) Miller of Montoursville, PA. Proud and loving Nana of Christopher and Timothy Murphy, Nicole Klein, Sean and Amie Miller and Matthew and Lauren Candlena and three Great Grandchildren.

Friends received by the family on Sunday 3-8 PM at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841) 156 Robinson St. North Tonawanda. Friends invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday morning at 9:30 AM. at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Oliver at Center Street in North Tonawanda. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
