M. Erin Grady (nee Walker) 66, of Amherst passed on Thursday November 25, 2021 after a valiant fight against Breast Cancer. Dear daughter of the late Ray and Mary (nee Murphy) Walker. Beloved wife for 39 years of Tim Grady. Loving mother of Daniel (Katie) Grady and Caitlin (James) Mikulski. Proud grandmother of Nolan Grady. Sister of DeLynn (Douglas McMurtry) Walker and Raymond (Frances) Walker. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Erin was a well-respected teacher for over 38 years, retiring in 2019 from Regan Intermediate School in the Starpoint Central School District. As a retired teacher, Erin wished to continue working with children as a way to give back to the community which was her home. She reached out to family and friends who encouraged her to pursue her vision. With the help of her sister, Birthday Buddies of WNY, Inc. was born. She believed that an investment in our most important resource, our children, the future of Buffalo and Western New York was essential.
Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday November 30, 2021, from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Brunner Funeral Home, 156 Robinson St. North Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday morning at 9:30 from St. Christopher R.C. Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Erin’s name to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 1298 Main St., Buffalo, NY 14209.
