Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Margaret Mary DeFranco (nee DePaolo) age 94, entered Eternal Life on Tuesday (August 30, 2011) surrounded by her family at her daughters’ home. She was under the loving care of her daughter Peggy, and Niagara Hospice. Margaret was a nurse’s aide during World War II and was also employed by the Wurlitzer Company until its closing. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, St. Anne Society at Ascension Church and she participated in various church organizations and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was the wife of the late Samuel DeFranco who predeceased her in 1991. Sister of the late Mary Nowark, Jenny Hanna, Robert, Frank , Samuel and Patrick DePaolo. Margaret is survived by her children: Louis DeFranco of Niagara Falls, Barbara (the late Dennis) Mills and Anthony DeFranco both of California, Peggy (Tim) Lynch, of Wheatfield. Four grandchildren: Lisa, Jason Lynch, Jennifer (Ryan) Licht and Kristen Hyland. Five great grandchildren: Kyle, Darin & Ashley Licht and Gavin and Jaret Lynch. Sister of Dominic DePaolo and Amelia Tomaino, and many nieces and nephews. Friends received by family on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841) 156 Robinson St. North Tonawanda where prayers will be held on Saturday morning at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to Niagara Hospice and Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
