Peggy Lou Mongeon

Peggy L. Mongeon (nee Unferdross) age 77, a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda on May 30, 2009 died suddenly at home. She retired from the North Tonawanda School District where she taught for fifty years, the last forty as a substitute teacher in elementary education. A devoted mother of four children and loving grandmother and when her health allowed, was active at Ascension R.C. Church and worked on the Bishop’s Committee. She was also a member of the Retired Teacher’s Association. Loving mother of Stephen (Rebecca) Mongeon of California, Scott (Sandra) Mongeon of Rochester, Christopher (Cynthia) Mongeon of Plymouth, NH and Mark Mongeon of North Tonawanda. Proud grandmother of Ashley, Rikki, Vicky, Katie, Kelly, Stephen, Cathy, Topher, Cheyenne, and Allyson Mongeon, Lousie and Lexi Wilkas. Proud great-grandmother of Anthony Galante. Friends received by the family on Tuesday evening 7-8:30 p.m. at the the Brunner Funeral Home, (692-3841), 156 Robinson Street, North Tonawanda. Memorial Services will be held at 8:30 p.m. that evening. Private interment will be at Elmlawn Cemetery.
