SANTLEY- Richard N. “Dick”, of North Tonawanda, NY on May 3, 2014. Dick a long time resident of North Tonawanda; he died Saturday in DeGraff Memorial Hospital due to complications with cancer. He was 72.
Born in Johnstown, PA, Mr. Santley attended Johnstown High School and entered the Navy 10 days after graduation. He was stationed in Norfolk, VA, for two years and honorably discharged. After working at Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown, PA, he relocated to Western New York in 1970 and began working for Harrison Radiator in Lockport. He retired from Harrison after 30 years of service.
A devoted Bills and Sabres fan; Dick loved spending time with his family, caring for his dear wife Pat (the love of his life for 51 years) spoiling his children and grandchildren, and surf fishing at Outer Banks, NC.
Beloved husband of Patricia E. (Rager) Santley; dearest father of R. Scott Santley and Christine E. (Santley) Mangioni; dear “Papa” of Brandon, Jordan, Holly, Ethan, Bethany, and Nathaniel. Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Edna Santerini, and sisters Margaret Bewak and Louis Callan. Survived by brother Jack Santley and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Brunner Funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 A.M. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
