Ruth I. Mcguire

Ruth Irene McGuire (nee Bailey) age 89, on Thursday, New Years Day (January 1, 2009) at Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. Ruth taught for 42 years and retired as a First Grade Teacher at Spruce School in North Tonawanda. She was a member of A.D.K. Teachers Honorary Sorority. She was a volunteer at the Carousel Society and Kenmore Mercy Hospital where she served as President of Kenmore Mercy Hospital Guild from 1990-1992 and worked in the Hospital Gift Shop. As a member of the Red Hat Society she enjoyed many outings with her friends. Ruth enjoyed traveling and helping her family, friends and neighbors. Most of all, Grandma loved spending time with her Grandchildren. Wife of the late Harold J. “Bud” McGuire. Sister of the late Herbert, Victor and Francis Bailey and Esther McGuire.

Beloved mother of David (Helen) McGuire of Oak Point, TX and William (Rhonda) McGuire of North Tonawanda. Proud grandmother of David Jonathan (Amy) McGuire, Molly Beth McGuire, Maggie McGuire and J.D. McGuire.

Friends received by the family on Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841), 156 Robinson Street, North Tonawanda where services will be held Monday morning at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Chistopher R.C. Church at 9:30 a.m. . Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. The family requests the memorials may be made to a Hospice of your choice.
