Walter C. Yaro, 87, of North Tonawanda on Saturday January 18, 2020 at his residence. Loving son of the late Walter and Jennie Yaro. Husband of the late Sheila (nee Daniels) Yaro. Father of Beth (Dennis) Wilson, Jeffrey (Chris) Yaro, the late Joel (Jean) Yaro, Anne Yaro, Amy (Mark) Behlert, Stacy Yaro and Adam (Michelle) Yaro. Proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Brother of Lorretta Yanul. Also survived by two nieces, and many cousins. Also survived by many of his Masonic Brotherhood friends.
Friends received by the family on Friday, January 24, 2020 4-7 p.m. at the Brunner Funeral Home, 156 Robinson St., where Masonic Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark Episcopal Church , Payne Ave. at Tremont St. North Tonawanda. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Acacia Park Cemetery.
Walter was a Chemical Engineer and worked for various companies in WNY. He retired from Niagara Co. Dept. of Social Services. He was a devoted 33rd Degree Mason, Member and Past Master Sutherland of Lodge #826, F&AM and many other organizations and civic positions. Walter was the devoted caretaker of his late wife, Sheila, throughout her battle with Multiple Sclerosis. For that, his family loves and honors him.
